Rookie league indoor soccer is a recreational learn to play league that will focus on teaching basic soccer skills. League will include 6 games with a developmental clinic before, a jersey and shorts.
Fee: $42
Ages: Pre-K (3/4 years old) and Kindergarten (5/6 years old)
Divisions are based on the 2023-2024 school year

* We will no longer be holding games on March 23rd and will be rescheduling to March 30th due to the Special Olympics. We received a call from Special Olympics looking to rent our gyms on the 23rd and we are one of the only rec centers in the valley that can accommodate such a large event. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We know this is the same week as spring break and the day before Easter, but our options were to reschedule it to that date or cancel it completely. Team Information:
There will be 10 players assigned to each team. We operate on a first-come, first serve basis. Players may request to play with other players/coaches. We will do our best to accommodate but it is not a guarantee. Requests will not be met for any late registrations. Late registrations will be placed on teams with spots available. If you signed up late, we cannot grant your teammate requests. Once we are full, we are full and we cannot take more participants. Please make sure you provide us with accurate contact information so you are receiving league updates. Once they are posted you can go online to quickscores.com/jlsorenson to find your team assignment. Once you find your team number you can find your coach’s contact information on your game schedule. If you are unable to locate your child’s team assignment online please contact the front desk at 385-468-1340.
Games:
*All times subject to change.* All start times will range from 8:00am to 8:00pm on Saturdays. Game schedules will be posted on quickscores.com . Depending on the number of teams in each division a double header or a bye week may be scheduled. Games will NOT be rescheduled for any reason. We do not have any open gym time to accommodate requests. Game length will be dependent upon the curriculum for that week. Staff and parent volunteers will run instructional clinics before the games. Clinic length will also vary based on curriculum week. Score will not be kept for games.

Equipment:
Participants must wear the league jersey they are given as their game day jersey. All age groups will play with a size 3 soccer ball.
Parent Volunteer Coaches:
If you are willing and able to coach please indicate so by filling out the coaches information section on your child’s registration form. You will also need to fill out a coaches packet which allows Salt Lake County to perform a background check; this is MANADATORY. A NEW coaches packet needs to be filled out once each calendar year. Coaches may choose to complete a coaches certification program found on our website, if completed by March 10th 2024 it will qualify them to receive a credit of 50% of the amount paid at registration (not including late fees) that can be used for future programs.
Sportsmanship:
We have a zero-tolerance policy with poor sportsmanship. Please do not talk to the officials unless it's to thank them. If there is an issue you would like to see immediately addressed, please speak with the site supervisor. Making comments to the officials takes their attention away from the kids which is where their focus should be. Anyone being unsportsmanlike will be asked to leave the facility immediately and will not be allowed to attend games for the rest of the season.
